2008 UTLA ELECTIONS

QEIA Planning Self-Assessment

If you work at a QEIA school in LAUSD, UTLA wants to hear from you. We are gathering information  to help understand what our members need to make QEIA work for their schools, and to monitor how the District implements QEIA. 1. The School Site Council (SSC) has calendared meetings for 2007-08.
2. A date has been established for the submission of the revised Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA).

3. The revised SPSA includes a professional development plan aligned to the four core content areas.

4. The SPSA is being revised using current school data and research based practices

5. The SSC has conducted a comprehensive needs assessment.

6. The SSC has conducted a school climate/culture survey.

7. The SSC has administered the Academic Program Survey to staff and has compiled the results from the survey.

8. Faculty, certified staff, administration, parents, students and advisory groups have been consulted by the SSC.

9. The SSC has received the QEIA budget and other appropriate categorical budgets.

10. The district has completed a facility needs assessment for implementing QEIA class size reduction.

11. Teachers in core areas are in compliance with the NCLB “highly qualified” requirements.

12. The SSC is aware of the Teacher Experience Index (TEI) for their site and is developing a plan to meet the TEI.
 

13. The SSC and the SSC’s designated planning committee or advisory committee have received training in:

  A. Planning a 7-year budget

  B. Data analysis

  C. Conducting a comprehensive needs assessment

  D. Communication skills

  E. Team building skills

14. The SSC has received information from the district on how the district will ensure that an exemplary administrator is on site next year.

15. The site administration has informed the SSC on how the site will be in compliance with the Williams settlement.

16. The SSC has examined the data related to the API and AYP for all students and related subgroups.

17. The SSC is working with an external group. (If yes, please identify the group.)
