House of Representatives
Ballots for the 2013-14 UTLA House of Representatives were counted at UTLA headquarters on December 11, 2012.

UTLA policy at all levels is set by our members, either directly or through representatives. The 350 member House of Representatives meets eight times a year to debate policy and vote on motions that determine UTLA's direction.
UTLA Standing Committees
UTLA Standing Committees that help formulate UTLA policy and contract proposals, hold educational conferences and field trips, and sponsor scholarship awards. Committees reflect a wide range of interests and specialties, from physical education to National Board certification to school safety. Membership in committees is open to all UTLA members. The best way to get involved is to attend one of the committees' regular meetings.
Board of Directors
The 50 member Board of Directors works with UTLA staff to carry out the mandates of the House of Representatives. The Board of Directors meets eight times a year.
Officers
The seven UTLA officers are part of the Board of Directors and help oversee the daily operation of UTLA.
Constitution
The UTLA constitution establishes the rules by which the organization is run.

The by-laws establish the division of responsibilities between major decision making bodies and dictate what each body is authorized to do.
