WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?

We need you at the January 29th march and rally, after school, to fight back against district and state budget cuts that will result in cuts to our health care, increased class sizes and layoffs.

Harbor

Buses
Harbor Area will have 4 buses arriving at the following locations at 3 pm:

• Bus #1 Ports O' Call (straight out from the fish market near the corner of Sampson Way and Skytower Way);
• Bus # 2. Home Depot on N. Gaffey & Crestwood;
• Bus #3 the "Park & Ride" at PCH and the 110 Harbor Freeway (when you exit at PCH, go east under the fwy overpass and left on Figueroa and you're there);
• Bus #4 the Artesia Transit Center (If you're traveling South on the 110 there is an exit directly into the transit Center. Otherwise from 182nd and Vermont go east a block or so until you see the Artesia Transit Center on your left. Can't miss it).

The buses will leave at 3:40.

The buses will drop us off at Pershing Square. After the March and rally to the State Bldg (3 blocks), we'll get back on our buses at the Parking Area at 2nd and Spring St. The rally ends between 6 and 6:30pm. We want to leave no more than 15 minutes after the end of the rally.

Metro Line
BLUE LINE: Catch the blue line at any point along the line except the Del Amo Park and Ride, which fills up and stays full. Other stops are Willow in Long Beach, the Artesia Station &, the Imperial Station. The Artesia station is easy to reach using the 91 fwy, go east on the 91 and take the Acasia St. off-ramp (right by the Crystal Casino) go straight across on Acasia and you'll see the Blue Line parking on the right. I noted that the parking areas were well patrolled by LA sheriffs. For the Imperial Station, go east on Imperial and get off on Wilmington Ave. There's an overflow parking lot right to the right when you get on Wilmington Ave. When you buy your ticket catch the blue line north to the 7th St Metro Center, get off and follow the "Red-line Union Station" Sign. Take the Red line subway toward Union Station and get off at the first stop, Pershing Square. It's fun.

GREEN LINE: Harbor Area teachers who live in the South Bay or beach areas might want to catch the Green Line stop in North Redondo at 2406 Marine Ave. The Green Line begins here on Marine about a quarter of a mile west of Inglewood Ave. It has a large Park and Ride Area with plenty of well lit parking spots. Get on the green line and get off at the Blue line stop, take the blue line toward Los Angeles/ Metro Center, get off at Metro Center and follow signs to Red Line/ Union Station. Take that train one exit to the Pershing Square stop.

North The Red Line stop is “Pershing Square"
South The Red Line stop is “Pershing Square"
Valley East

North Hollywood station is the Northernmost stop on the Metro Red line located at Lankershim Blvd. & Chandler Blvd. in North Hollywood, California. This station has an island platform. This station is also the Easternmost stop on the Metro Orange Line transitway and is located across the street from the Red Line station on Lankershim Blvd.
