UTLA Helps Parents Prepare for Summer

June 4, 2009 – At a press conference tomorrow, Friday, June 5, 2009, UTLA will announce its plan to offer parent workshops designed to assist parents with the challenges that the recent LAUSD cancellation of summer school has created. The workshops will provide ideas and resources to help students stay connected to academics during the summer.

“Students are the highest priority for Los Angeles teachers,” said A. J. Duffy, UTLA president. “We decided to step up and do what we can to help parents mitigate the negative effects of the District’s last minute decision to cancel summer school.”
