UTLA affiliates

While UTLA works to improve education at L.A. Unified, our affiliates advance the cause of public education on a national level. UTLA is affiliated with the two largest national affiliates. The AFT and NEA are dedicated to improving public schools and supporting teacher professionalism.

American Federation of Teachers (AFT)

National Education Association (NEA)

NEA represents more than 3.2 million members. Its state-level organization is the California Teachers Association (CTA).

California Federation of Teachers (CFT)

The CFT is the statewide affiliate of the American Federation of Teachers, the CFT represents faculty and other school employees in public and private schools and colleges, from early childhood through higher education. Phone: (510)832-8812 website: www.cft.org

California Teachers Association (CTA)

The California Teachers Association (CTA) is California's largest professional employee organization, representing more than 340,000 public school teachers, counselors, psychologists, librarians, other non-supervisory certificated personnel, and Education Support Professionals (ESPs).
