May 24th After School: PICKET AND RALLY
On Tuesday, May 24, we are picketing and rallying outside LAUSD headquarters
(scroll down for map/parking) to send a strong message to the School Board:
"In light of the in new funds for education from the state of California and other funding sources, UTLA demands that the School Board immediately rescind all layoff notices, restore class sizes and any programs LAUSD has cut in the last three years."
Negotiations with LAUSD will be happening on that same day—support our negotiating team as they fight to save ALL jobs. District officials admit that their current offer would not save all RIF’d jobs. UTLA’s top priority remains to bring back ALL our members and to stop class-size increases. Put the pressure on the School Board to make the right decision.
