The UTLA website has had a makeover!
We've re-organized our web site to better meet the needs of our various audiences: teachers and Health and Human Services professionals, parents, community members and the media. The following are answer to questions about the new site:
To make content easier to locate, information for specific audiences (teachers, parents, media etc.) has been grouped together on the left hand side of the page. The top tabs contain general information and also action items. We have also upgraded the visual "look and feel" setting a uniform graphic style for each page and adding a professional, contemporary look, reflective of our stature as the second largest teachers union in the United States!
As committee and professional development information is most relevant to UTLA members, it has been listed under the "Teachers and HHS Professionals" button on the left hand side of the site.
We have added a site map, organized alphabetically. It can be found at the top right hand corner of the site. We also have included a Search feature.
Exactly the same question asked by everyone! Over the years, as we tried to accommodate all requests, the home page grew cluttered, to the point where information was extremely difficult to find. With the new layout, the home page is much easier to navigate, especially for new members.
We are continuously working on the web site to add new features and content that is helpful for members. As such, it is a work in progress. Please be patient with us as we work to bring you the best web site possible. We would love to hear your suggestions.
We welcome feedback about the web site. Please send e-mails to webmaster@utla.net [1].
