Need to clear your credential? A-track / traditional BTSA course
In partnership with the LAUSD Office of Alternative Certification and Teacher Support, the UTLA Helen Bernstein Center is offering induction courses by the Institute for Standards, Curricula and Assessments. In the course "Using Standards-Based Lesson Design Study and Technology to Create and Improve Lessons and Assessments" participants will develop a standards-based unit and assessment on a topic their students need, and then teach the unit, administer the assessment, score the papers, and analyze student performance. The course also meets the technology standard requirement (Standard 16)
This is a three-unit course of seven class sessions, held by track. There are five consecutive initial training days that meet from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., plus two Saturday follow-ups (dates to be determined). Dates and teaching-subjects for which classes are offered are:

The workshop offers 3 units of BTSA-Induction credit, 1 unit for Standard 16 (technology), 2 for elective hours.
NBCTs can earn 10 hours' credit for professional development.
Other than a refundable deposit of $25, there is no cost to teachers needing BTSA-Induction units or to BTSA support-provider teachers. Other interested participants may enroll on a space-available basis for a materials fee of $100 ($85 handbook included). There is an enrollment limit of 20 participants per instructor.
