  • 58 applications submitted for PSC 3.0 schools (11/14/11)
    PSC 3.0 campuses attracted 58 teams of teachers, local district staff, charter management and non-profit organizations. See list of submissions (from LAUSD PSC site).

  • Two more schools taken out of the Public School Choice (PSC) 3.0 process (11/14/11)
    LAUSD has removed Washington Prep and Woodcrest Elementary School from the third round of the PSC process because they are under consideration for a substantial school improvement grant. LAUSD has warned that these two schools could be put back on the list if the grant is not realized.

  • Teachers get opportunity to bid first for new schools! (8/30/11)
    School Board acknowledges problems with Public School Choice as it approves the motion to allow teachers and administrators the ability to submit plans on new schools before any private organizations. Additionally, the district must now negotiate with UTLA and the District's labor partners concerning the criteria for the plans for the new schools.(Media coverage)
