April 2, 2011: ACLU Settlement: Why the students lose

UTLA strongly opposes the decision to approve the settlement which will have a series of unintended negative consequences that will hurt our students.

Update: The California Supreme Court has denied UTLA's application for a stay pending appeal. We will seek an expedited process on the appeal of Judge Highberger's Order. However, the denial of the stay means that the District will proceed with the RIFs under the terms of the Reed settlement agreement.
