How to Change your Affiliation, or become a Dual Member

If you want to change your affiliation from CTA/NEA to CFT/AFT or from CFT/AFT to CTA/NEA or to become a Dual Member (belonging to both affiliates, with double dues) just write a brief letter stating:

1. My name is (xxxxx).
2. My employee number is (yyyyyy).
3. I want to change my affiliation from (aa/bb) to (cc/dd), OR I want to become a Dual Member.
4. Date and sign it.
5. Fax it to: UTLA Membership at (213) 637-5161.

You do not need to fill out a new UTLA membership application.

Please remember that any changes must be received by UTLA no later than October 4, 2011 in order to vote in the affiliate elections you have chosen to change to.

How to Find your UTLA Area

Click here to find your UTLA area (for those who work at more than one school site)
Such as Substitute Teachers, Special Educators and Itinerants (Music teachers, coaches, etc) and Health and Human Service Professionals (Nurses, Psychologist, Counselors, P.S.A, etc)

If you are one of the UTLA members mentioned above (Substitutes, Special Educators, Itinerants and H&H Professionals) and are not listed on the roster at the site you work at the most, please complete the "Voter Area & Special Category Designation" form. That way you will be able to participate in the elections for Board of Director representatives for the UTLA Area in which you work.
