Communications Specialist-Digital

We are looking for a Communications Specialist who believes strongly in educational and social justice, is deadline driven, and flexible with a positive attitude to join our dynamic Communications team at United Teachers Los Angeles, the nation’s second-largest teacher union local. UTLA’s award-winning Communications team educates and organizes our audiences around UTLA’s vision for a strong union and a strong public education system.

Research Specialist

The Research Specialist is assigned to provide services for the officers, staff and members on a citywide basis.  The Research Specialist is responsible to the Strategic Research Director. 

Please contact Diana Darty, Operations Director, at ddarty@utla.net for an application and details of documents to be submitted with the application.  Two letters of recommendation demonstrating experience and knowledge will be required when submitting application and other requested documents.  All required documentation including completed application, letters of recommendation, resume and requested documents must be received by UTLA no later than September 7, 2021.

 

UTLA Communications Director 

The UTLA Communications Director is a creative, strategic, collaborative leader who thrives in fast-paced, campaign-like environments; with a passion for building BIPOC leadership, a commitment to social justice, and strong cultural fluency.  This is a highly collaborative position in a fast-paced environment that responds to dynamic cultural moments. The Communications Director develops compelling messaging that shapes the local and national narrative around public education in support of our students, families, and communities.
