Healthcare TA Reached Between LAUSD and all Eight Unions

A three-year tentative agreement will be voted on by all LAUSD employee unions in coming weeks. With unions standing united against any healthcare cuts, a Tentative Agreement was reached Thursday, Jan. 18, between the district and all eight employee unions that includes:  

• A three-year healthcare agreement for eligible employees and retirees
• Preservation of all current healthcare plans, at no additional costs to members
• No two-tier system with lower benefits for new employees
• A guaranteed reserve to help pay for cost increases beyond 2020

The following is a statement from all 8 unions: 
After years of district threats to our healthcare, it is a victory to have all unions remain steadfast against any concessions. This is an agreement that is good for employees, good for the district and good for our students and our communities. LAUSD must continue to attract and retain top-notch employees, and that includes offering fully-funded healthcare.
